Google Base Follow Up

Well, I have posted a few days ago about my little Google Base experiment inspired by Graywolf’s similar experiment. My results for some reason appeared not that spectacular as his – infact my item is not showing up anywhere except Gogole base itself. But while messing with all this stuff, I thought I’d take a look at different features of Google Base and here’s what I have discovered.

Google Base has 15 different categories of items you can post, plus you can create your own. Some items, like products, will display in other Gogle services (e.g. in case of products it’ll be Froogle, and Rand has reported recipes showing in Google search. those types of items are pretty customizable to your needs but for one little deatil: some of them expire 31 days after being posted and others don’t. here goes the list of types that have no time limit attached to them:

  • Course Schedules
  • News and Articles
  • Podcasts
  • Recipes
  • Reference Articles
  • Reviews
